White Privilege vs Black Privilege

by  … Chuck Pithy

Rev. Jesse Jackson came out with a strongly worded statement regarding remarks made by Duck Dynasty Star, Phil Robertson, in which Jackson came up with a new buzz phrase of “White Privilege”.  Now let’s look at the definition of privilege:  : a right or benefit that is given to some people and not to others, a special opportunity to do something that makes you proud, the advantage that wealthy and powerful people have over other people in a society.  Phi Robertson was making these observations of what he saw growing up as a poor white child in rural Louisiana working right beside blacks in the fields. At the time of his observations, he was neither wealthy or had special benefits.  As for the present, his privilege is  not any different than thousands of wealthy minorities who speak out about a variety of subjects.  So in typical liberal fashion, instead of just debating facts he had to resort to trying to defame Phil Robertson, instead of discussing the subject.

Because Jackson and Sharpton have wore out the race card, they needed to find something new to make the same impact.  Phil Robertson was stating an opinion and nothing more, as he a right to do and as Rev. Jackson has a right to do.  However before Rev. Jackson goes on the attack about White Privilege he should answer what he is doing about Black Privilege.

The following is a discussion about what I call Black Privilege.  Black Privilege is where there are issues and problems, but they can’t be pointed out or discussed because then you would be a racist.  In ignoring these issues, Rev. Jackson and Rev. Sharpton, take what I call Black Privilege.

We are all aware of the major problem of black gangs in the major cities and now in many of the smaller ones.  This causes a blight in these neighborhoods where people are living in fear for their safety.  Robberies, rapes and assaults become accepted out of fear of retaliation.

A byproduct of the gangs are the drive by shootings which are taking place at an alarming rate.  The media chooses not to report this because they do not want the wrath of black leaders like Rev. Jackson or Rev. Sharpton calling them racists.

Next let’s look at the drug lords and drug use in black neighborhoods.  They are getting young kids hooked on this stuff and then using them to do the drug running, knowing full well, that when the kids are caught they will not go to prison.  It destroys the future of the next generation and teaches them that crime pays.

While Rev. Jackson was quick to raise a media storm about Trayvon Martin, he says nothing about all the black on black killing that is an epidemic in our major cities.  In a 2007 study of crime referenced in this article from The Blaze Race Wars Pt 1 The Shocking Data On Black-On-Black Crime , it was determined that 93% of blacks that were killed by other blacks.  Here is an excerpt from the article about crime in Rev. Jackson’s own town:

Chicago

One city that has perennially come under fire for racially charged violence is Chicago. In just the span of three days alone — March 16th-19th of this year — 41 people, mostly African-American, were shot and killed in Chicago. Ten were killed in President Obama’s former neighborhood. Incredibly, these atrocities on our very own streets barely received a turn of the head by activists, nor did they receive any media coverage.

In response to President Obama’s decision to raise the profile of the Trayvon Martin case, T. Willard Fair, president of the Urban League of Greater Miami, recently told The Daily Caller that the “the outrage should be about us killing each other, about black-on-black crime.”

He asked rhetorically, “Wouldn’t you think to have 41 people shot [in Chicago] between Friday morning and Monday morning would be much more newsworthy and deserve much more outrage?”

More than 500 people under the age of 21 were killed in Chicago in 2008. This figure fell only slightly in 2009 and 2010 and, of course, does not represent the many others who have been shot or injured as a result of these attacks. Records reveal that nearly 80 percent of youth homicides occurred in 22 black or Latino communities on Chicago’s South and West sides.

In just the first three months of 2012, 109 people have already been murdered in the city of Chicago. So rampant are the killings in fact, that crime in the President’s adopted hometown was even the focus of an April 5th report featured on The O’Reilly Factor:

Why is Rev. Jackson not screaming from the rooftops about this???    My guess is that it does not fit his mission of making everything the fault of the white man.

For a moment let’s turn to something much more recent, the Beat Downs.  This is where a black(s) pick out a random white person and assault them.  It has been widely reported and a few brave law enforcement officials have commented that this is a growing problem.  In a very puzzling move, the US Justice Dept, will pursue a hate crime charge against a white man who did a beat down of a black, but no hate crime charges have been issued for the black beat downs. A real leader of the black community would be speaking out strongly against this, but Rev. Jackson has been typically silent about speaking out against his own community.

Yet another problem in which Jackson is silent is black on white crime.  There is far more black on white crime than vice versa, but that is not addressed.  On a recent Fox News piece, Ann Coulter slammed the media for playing up white on black crime but ignoring black on white crime.  A quote from the article Coulter Slams Media For Hyping White on Black Crime and Ignoring Black On White Crime
http://dailycaller.com/2013/08/25/coulter-slams-media-for-hyping-rare-white-on-black-crime-while-ignoring-black-on-white-crime/#ixzz2ot4N34g2“It was much worse in the ’70s, ’80s,” Coulter said. “We’re getting back to it. Obama brought it all back and that’s this racial etiquette from the media. They don’t report on the much more common black-on-white crime, but the very rare man-bites-dog story of white-on-black crime — that gets covered hysterically not because it is a man-bites-dog story, but they act as if, ‘No, this is all too common, it’s the racism in America.’ No, it is very rare. In one example of my book — rape cases, interracial rape cases, the number of black-on-white rapes going back 15 years, 15 years there are about 1,000-to-2,000 a year black-on-white rapes. For 15 years according to the Department of Justice victimization surveyed, the number of white-on-black rapes are either 0.0 or sample too small for a number.”

Have you listened to any Rap music?  If you’re not familiar with it, it is a style of rapid rhyming in which the artist speaks the words rather than singing them.  While many of these artists have created some wonderful works, there are some who have encouraged killing the pigs (cops) and killing whitey.  Furthermore, they refer to women as bitches and ho’s in some of these rap songs.  In these songs there is also race slurs they use to refer to themselves but are hugely offended when others use the same language.  How can the black community demand respect from others when they have no respect for themselves.  In the quest for respect and breaking away from stereotypes, why doesn’t Rev. Jackson and Rev. Sharpton speak out against the writers of movies and TV shows?  To portray blacks as always being gangbangers, drug lords, or stupid people that get taken advantage of, only continues the racist stereotypes that they are so opposed to.  Why is Rev. Jackson and Rev. Sharpton not speaking out against that? My guess is that the Hollywood crowd is typically liberal and supports of Jackson and Sharpton, so they don’t want to kill the golden goose. One would think they would encourage their people to be better than that, to rise above that level.

Next let’s take a look at education.  Blacks typically have the lowest graduation rate across the nation.  In an article from the Call and Post  entitled Black High School Graduation Rates Lowest In Country,
http://callandpost.com/news/2013/sep/11/black-high-school-graduation-rates-lowest-country/  it states that High school graduation rates in the United States are at their highest since 1974, according to a recent U.S. Department of Education report, but Black students graduated at a rate below other ethnic groups.

Sadly a part of this is repeating the cycle, because if the parents never graduate they do not see the value of it and do not make it a priority.  And without a High School diploma your opportunities in life greatly diminish.  Does Rev. Jackson have any programs, plans or statements on education other than blaming the white community, if so we are not hearing about it.

We know from studies that children do best when there is a two parent household.  In the black community the rate of single parent households is staggering!  According to a Huffington Post article entitled “Single Motherhood Increases Dramatically For Certain Demographics”  A stunning 68% of black mothers are single.  Many black men openly brag about how many children they have and how many women they have made pregnant.  Referring to women as bitches and ho’s openly as they do shows a lack of respect which adds to the problem. Recently an NFL player made the news when his son died at a very young age.  Everyone was concerned about his emotions and the drama, would he be able to perform at the level needed with this weighing so heavy on his heart? But the unreported sad truth was he was not involved at all in the child’s life until the very end.

In our state there are several festivals held in Milwaukee, in which there has been flash mob violence, during the past two years.  These black thugs trash the grounds, intimidate and assault those attending and create fear for anyone who has thought about attending.   In addition race riots are back, here is an article about the grow problem The Return Of Race Riots To America.  http://www.wnd.com/2011/10/355449/#z5mVZX51HHRkTjT8.99.  Here is a quote from the article:  “Thank God for YouTube. Or else we never would have know that hundreds of times in more than 50 cities since 2010, groups of black people have been roaming the streets of America – assaulting, intimidating, stalking, threatening, vandalizing, stealing, shooting, stabbing, even raping and killing.

But today the denials are crumbling. The curtains are lifting. We now can see what so many public officials and media have been curiously desperate to deny: Race riots are back.

And not just in Chicago, Philadelphia and New York. Places like Iowa, Wisconsin, Colorado and Indiana have their very own race riots, too.

Let’s look at Philadelphia. In the spring of 2010, large groups of black people – as in thousands – began gathering in the “eclectic” section of South Philadelphia. Mayhem and violence followed.”
“Interestingly there was no comment on this from Rev. Jackson or Rev. Sharpton.

The last and most frustrating thing is how often Jackson and Sharpton use the race card.  You can have very specific facts and figures about a subject, but if these fact and figures include anything negative about blacks it is automatically racist.  If you are against a specific program that involves minorities, then you are a racist.  If you oppose any program the President wants, you are a racist.  If you feel the Justice Department has not done their job, or that Eric Holder has not followed the oath of his office, then you are a racist. If you refer to the Affordable Care Act as Obamacare, now suddenly you are racist. When Jackson and Sharpton opposed President Bush were they not racist?  The answer is of course not, blacks are never racists in their eyes.

There are many brilliant black leaders who are conservative, the left has no use for their ideas because they do not blame the white community.  As conservatives, we want solutions that enable the black community to solve these problems by helping themselves, pulling themselves up by the bootstraps and working for something.  Leaders like Jackson and Sharpton want solutions that deal with entitlements, which trap their community into a continual dependence on the government instead of themselves.  While this is just a short list of issues facing the black community today it is obvious that leaders like Jackson and Sharpton would be far more helpful to their people if they worked on these issues rather than worry about whether Cracker Barrel Restaurants carry Duck Dynasty t shirts.  But I guess Jackson and Sharpton are taking Black Privilege.

I am Chuck Pithy and I tell it like it is!
