Drinking from the Fire Hose – Part 3

Yesterday’s blog was about Obama’s use of signing documents and Executive Orders to go around that pesky little document known as the Constitution.

While many of us our concerned over the violations of our Constitution, destruction of our Freedom, Liberty, and America, I understand that Democrats, Liberals, and Progressives probably consider this a good thing since they view the Constitution, America, Freedom, and Liberty as evil.

I get it. We as a people have to be forced to do what Democrats, Liberals, and Progressives feel are good for us. That is why they are always mandating, legislating, and regulating instead of allowing us to make our own choices. Left to make our own choices, we might not do what they want. They see you and me as children unable to decide what is best for us and therefore, we need them to tell us what to do. That is why recently they proudly proclaimed that Obamacare is liberating us from the adult responsibility of work.

But in the end Democrats, Liberals, and Progressives will suffer also. First, Obama has hurt the reputation of Democrats, Liberals, and Progressives by showing what hypocrites they truly are.

Remember how Democrats, Liberals, and Progressives were so very upset at Bush for the following actions, yet Obama has done the same yet you don’t hear a single word from them.

* Obama carried out military intervention in Libya without Congressional approval

* Obama gave a no-bid contract to Halliburton

* Obama has an administration full of lobbyists

* Obama has close ties and received major campaign donations from Wall Street Executives

* Obama gave tax dollars to AIG Executives

* Obama continues to detain terrorists in foreign countries and at Gitmo

* Obama renewed Bush’s unconstitutional Patriot Act

* Obama increased the national debt (Obama said that Bush was a failed President by asking for the debt ceiling to be raised)

* Obama supports the indefinite detention of US Citizens without filing any charges

* Obama continues Bush’s unconstitutional warrantless wiretapping program

* Obama used drones to kill 4 US citizens without judicial process

Even Representative Barney Frank (D-Massachusetts) said, “I’m very disappointed. They look more like the Bush administration.”

What confuses many who supported Obama’s first term but are shocked by his current actions; do not understand that his first term was dedicated to putting in place more executive power to enable him to “transforming America” in his second term regardless of which political party controls Congress.

In his first term, Obama made Congress irrelevant. During the first two years of the Obama’s first term, the Democrats controlled both Houses of Congress and in their blind love of him, they passed laws which transferred more power to the executive branch.

They did this by using multi-thousand page laws so that Obama’s Cabinet could then interpret these vaguely written laws to create rules and regulations that Americans would have objected to if they had been debated in Congress. When you read the phrase, “the Secretary determines” in a bill, this phrase means that Congress is transferring their authority to Obama to create the law.

In his second term, Obama is now fundamentally changing America because he knows that Republicans will not have the courage or desire to challenge his power and Democrats are loyal oafs.

The most significant power Congress has to reign in a President is the control of the purse-strings. As we have seen with the GOP giving Obama a “clean” debt-ceiling bill, Obama has successfully used tactics to scar the American people over government shutdowns.

Barack Obama has shown he is more than willing to deliberately withhold payments to hurt and scare those dependent on government to live as a means of intimidating and forcing a Republican controlled Congress to surrender to his demands, thus nullifying their Constitutional ability to control the administration through spending constraints.

Obama has shown he is effective at neutering Congress and ignoring the courts. This means that Democrats, Liberals, and Progressives in Congress and the courts will no longer be needed and thus the basis of their power, being able to legislate and interpret laws, is no longer relevant.

Obama has worked to make Congress and the courts ineffective but has he left the military alone? He has referred to the US Military on numerous occasions as “his military.” But was that just a slip of the tongue?

During his time as President, Obama has “fired” over 197 senior military officers. Some will say, and rightly so, that some of these senior officers were fired because of their own misconduct. But some have been fired for not saluting properly.

But where are today’s leaders? Are they so afraid of losing their cushy elected job? Are they too afraid to stand up and take action because it might mean the loss of an election? Or do they believe that the Constitution is flawed and we no longer need a Legislative Branch? Is this how America follows Rome and 1930 Germany and transforms from a Republic to an Empire?

Thomas Jefferson wrote, “We mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor” in the Declaration of Independence. 9 signers gave their lives in the cause of Liberty. Many of the leaders during this period lost every penny they had and every piece of property they owned.

Average Americans fought and gave their lives in the American War of Independence. Since then average Americans have continued to sacrifice and pay the ultimate price to defend America against all enemies foreign and domestic. So where are the Senators and Representatives who have not only the power and ability to fight back but the financial means as well?
