COPS LIVES MATTER! Two Lynchburg VA. Businesses Thank Police With Free Dinner
By: Passionate Pachyderms
Two Lynchburg area businesses took time out of their Sunday afternoon to let their local police know they’re appreciated, and thank them for all they do in the community, by providing 60-70 officers on duty with sub sandwiches, chips, and drinks all free of charge.
Chuck Bartel, manager of  Diuguid  Funeral Services, and his wife Jen delivered the food and drinks to the police station around 3:00 p.m. to make sure everyone going off and coming on duty had the opportunity to enjoy the free dinner.
When Mr. Bartel contacted  Jersey Mikes Subs to order the food and told them what it was for, the owner  Immediately joined the cause. Â
This is what ALL communities and businesses need to be stepping forward and doing Mrs. Bartel said, these men and women protect us and come to our aide every day, often putting their lives in danger, it’s about time their communities started saying THANK YOU, and telling them we’ve got their backs!
Mr. Bartel, manager of the two Diuguid Funeral Service locations in Lynchburg, also provided a memorial book to the officers of Lynchburg which will be delivered to the police station in Dallas Texas where five police officers were murdered as they patrolled a Black Lives Matter protest last week.
Mr. Bartel and Diuguid Funeral Service are also inviting all members of the Lynchburg and surrounding communities to come by one of their two locations and sign additional condolance memorial books which will also be delivered to Dallas and given to the families of the fallen officers.
If you wish to sign the books, and let these families know they are in your thoughts and prayers, the public is invited to drop by Diuguids 21914 Timerlake Road location in Lynchburg between 9:00 a.m. And 3:00 p.m, or their 811 Wiggington Rd. Location also in Lynchburg, Â between 8:00 a.m. And 5:00 p.m. Any day this week to offer their condolences. The books, and any cards or letters will then be delivered to the Dallas Police station next week.
